The Association of Italian American Educators is sponsoring two annual $1,000.00 grants for teachers of Italian attending a credit bearing Study Abroad Program in Italy.

2009 Fellowship Application!

Our Mission is to immerse teachers in authentic experiences in the Italian Language, Culture, and to give support to their professional and pedagogical development in order to enrich and enhance the learning environment in their schools and classrooms.

The applicant must:

• Be a Full-Time, Tenured Teacher
• Complete the application in detail
• Submit an estimated budget
• Present formal acceptance of program selected
• Agree to receive 70% of the total $1,000.00 Award before going to or during the stay in Italy;
  30% upon the successful completion of the program
• Submit a letter of support by the principal at his/her school
• Be a member of the association, or become one at the time of the application
• Articulate how this experience in Italy will affect or enrich your profession
• Make a brief presentation about the experience at the Annual Award Gala
